It’s Today | BATTLE OF THE BANDS

We are honored to have the Representative of the EU Delegation to Malawi, H.E. Ambassador Rune Skinnebach, joining us as the Guest of Honour, alongside other high-level delegates at the first ever NMN Africa #BattleoftheBands show presented by Music4Malawi.

The in-person event is strictly by invitation, but you can stream the performances online.

“As EU, we are happy to be supporting the Music4Malawi Project, through which we encourage entrepreneurship and cultural innovation with a special focus on the participation of the youth.” – the Representative of the EU Delegation to Malawi, H.E. Ambassador Rune Skinnebach.

We also welcomes Ambassador Ute Konig, new representative for the German Embassy to Malawi to the beautiful warm heart of Africa.

“As a newcomer to Malawi, I am thrilled to learn more about the creative spirit in Malawi, and to listen to the local music talents who will compete for the NMN Africa Awards in the very first Battle of the Bands competition.” – Ambassador of the German Mission to Malawi, H.E. Ute Konig.

Lastly, and importantly, we look forward to hosting the team from Music in Africa in Malawi during the same event!

“The Sound Connects Fund would have injected over 2 Million Euros into the cultural and creative sectors in Southern Africa, by the time the project draws to a close in 2024. Malawi would have received €392,818.00 of that amount in grants, not including the business that the Sound Connects Fund brought to the country when we hosted the annual networking conference here in 2022. We are pleased to have identified active and capable organisations such as the Ntha Foundation, to entrust with implementing meaningful projects like Music4Malawi; which is a necessary intervention for the music professionals in Malawi.” – Priscilla Mwasinga, Sound Connects Fund Representative (Goethe Institut)
